Addressed to Mr.Wonderful :)

April 22, 2010

Dear Mr.Wonderful,

I've been thinking about you lately. Not you as in a specific person, obviously, because I don't know who you are yet. More than that though, I've been thinking about just how nice it would be to have a best friend.

So let me ask you a few questions about yourself. Are you a nerdfighter? Because I think it might be nice to marry one, if I could find one who loved Jesus. I'm sure there must be a couple people like that, but I'm only really just getting into YouTube and everything.

But Mr.Wonderful, whether you're a nerdfighter or not is not the point. In this moment, what I imagine I would want from a best friend is this: someone who challenges me, someone I could think with, about new and old ideas. This someone, you, I would hope would know how to dream, but live in reality at the same time.

Please don't take me too seriously; the serious torture me. Let's commit to continually learning together, oh, and having responsible fun. ;) I love you, and I hope to meet you one day.

I hope that if I should ever meet you, that you wouldn't have already fallen in love with another girl, because should I meet you, I would hope to share my whole life with you.

Oh, where are you? I just want to talk to you. Have a conversation. I'd like to be with you, but if I could just wave at you from a distance - I'd be fine with that. I can wait; I just want to know that this hope that I'm holding will come to its fruition.

Thanks for listening,

_________[I sign my name]

P.S. Do you like my cursive? Sorry if it's a mess, I'm trying to work on it.

Hey, it's kind of cool that you found this so quickly after it's posting.

Just took a glance at your blog. I like the title "Words are things", I know that that's probably mostly derived from the fact that you're an author, but sounds like it might a statement that supports the Biblical account of creation. Do you have an opinion on that discussion at all? If you do I'd be interested in hearing it. I've posted a couple times about it before on my blog.

Also, you've published you're first book. Tell me, is it worth buying? I honestly just about never read fiction. I can't justify the time when I could learning or wasting time on YouTube or something. Speaking of YouTube, do you know who the vlogbrothers are? John and Hank Green? John Green is the author of the books Paper Towns and Will Grayson, Will Grayson and others. (None of which I've read by the way, they might be good but I don't know). And have you ever heard of Maureen Johnson, also an author of books I've never read? On the vlogbrothers' channel, she has a couple videos she makes as a guest addressed to beginning authors.

Maybe you'd be interested in looking those up?

That's my two cents on book writing in general.

Dear Miss Gravity sorry Graffiti I am glad I found this note as I am Mr. Wonderful although not so wonderful as many nights I sleep thinking I dont belong here, but it's alright I am here so why fret about settling in after 30 years mostly spent thinking about ideas you or anyone would not care to hear about or writing what I do not want to think.
Now I dream so much I forget to live, so do not worry I have not fallen in any love and you have met me on the almigthy "next blog" button.
You can wave at me now I am that friend you crave.

@ casey - thanks!

@ diipo - You very well may be Mr.Wonderful, as I'm sure there must be several Mr.Wonderful's. And it is true that there are at least a few people that would fit that name, I don't think that that would make any of them less valuable, nor you.

I love this blog and everyone who takes time to comment on it. So if you'd like to be a friend of mine I'd be glad!

The original intent of the letter, was for it to be written to the man that I would marry. Now I'd guess that you probably aren't that man. Still, it would please me to have you as a friend!
